- The 2027 Chevrolet Traverse once again offers a High Country model; only the new version receives myriad changes.

Chevrolet’s High Country treatment is the equivalent of GMC’s Denali. They represent the pinnacle of each brand’s truck and SUV lineups, though the Denali badge has more cachet. However, the High Country trim level looks to elevate its status with an evolved design philosophy, which debuts on the 2027 Chevy Traverse.
Going forward, Chevy’s High Country models will have a new-look badge. Instead of bold and shiny “High Country” lettering split between two planes amid a mountain motif, the redesigned version resides on a single plane with the two words separated by a more modern-looking mountain icon. Unlike before, the front stores bear the High Country emblem instead of Traverse. A set of large 22-inch wheels remains standard, but they now have a different look that blends black accents with a machined finish. Whereas the outgoing Traverse High Country had chrome details on the front end and around the top of the side windows, the updated version features Tritan Satin on the grille and headlight surrounds, and there’’s black molding around the side glass.
The High Country’s interior receives a new color scheme, with the Jet Black primary color accented by a Natural Tan piping and stitching on the dash doors, center console, and seats. The seatbelts are also outlined with the tan hue. Chevy’s designers helped elevate the cabin materials by adding real wood on the dashboard and upper door panels. You’ll no longer get real leather, but Chevy says its new synthetic upholstery material is more durable, easier to clean, and more sustainable. Every Traverse still features a turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder that’s good for 328 horsepower. An eight-speed automatic transmission pairs with front- or all-wheel drive, and the mid-size SUV can tow up to 5000 pounds. For those who like to drive hands-free when the time is right, GM’s Super Cruise is an available feature. Chevy also introduces new tech across the entire lineup with Cabin Glance. It’s standard on the High Country and lets the driver access a live camera view of the second- and third-row seats. Surround Vision Recorder joins the party too, with an array of exterior cameras able to act as a dashcam and even automatically start recording if the alarm is activated; you just need to install a USB to save and view the video files.
While most of the 2027 Traverse lineup is already on sale, the High Country is a late addition. Chevy says production is slated to start next month at its assembly plant in Lansing Delta Township. Pricing details will be announced at a later date, but we expect the new Traverse High Country to start around $58,000.
