Rebecca is a scientist-turned-storyteller and professional ghostwriter who enjoys forgetting common English words and making up her own in their stead. She's probably stuck between two basically-the-same dialogue options in a Larian game as you read this (there's so much at stake, obviously!!!). Rebecca currently lives with two gigantic puppies, a toddler consistently LARPing as Lara Croft, and her Halo-playing husband in Detroit, MI. You can find her past work at Zelda Universe and Verily Magazine.

God mode is just one spell away

Can you cheat in Baldur’s Gate 3 on PS5 and Xbox Series X? As of recently, yes — or, at least, doing so just got a lot more convenient. Larian Studios has approved Cheater’s Menu for console, a mod by For_Kiramay. This mod adds a spell to your in-game hotbar. Cast it, and a cheat menu with ten tabs and over 300 options opens on-screen. Those options range from healing your party and respeccing for free to spawning any item in the game — or making sure every dice roll goes your way.

Those playing Baldur’s Gate 3 on PC have had access to magical shortcuts like these for a minute, thanks to Script Extender console commands and Cheat Engine tables, alongside a litany of more user-friendly — albeit a la carte — cheat mods. Since console players can only use mods that clear Larian’s curation, however, a comprehensive cheat toolkit of this scope has stayed a PC-only thing for years. Console gamers seeking a more accessible run or a way to jump straight to a late-game fight can now install Cheater’s Menu via Larian’s in-game mod menu and enjoy a bewildering world of new options. Spawn any item by name! Give yourself more spell slots! Or make the game harder by raising enemy health and damage with convenient enemy difficulty steppers!

Or, if you’re so inclined, take advantage of these Cheater’s Menu standouts:

Several of these can be used for good or ill: For example, if you’re less interested in critical successes with your dice rolls, you can toggle a -40 dice option to make fighting your way through Faerûn a devastatingly difficult experience.

To enjoy the benefits of this new mod, boot up Baldur’s Gate 3 on console, open the mod manager from the main menu, look for “Cheater’s Menu,” and enable it. While there, check out the other recently approved mods: Console players can now more easily try out new subclasses like Dragon Patron (a warlock subclass that lets you breathe fire) and Spell Thief (which lets you learn spells by observing them).

Then load a new game or an existing save, and cast the new Cheater’s Menu spell from your hotbar. Your selected cheats will apply to whichever character you’re controlling, although any XP you accrue will go to your full party. While console players have been rolling the same dice in Baldur’s Gate 3 since 2023, now you can add +20 to every single roll.
