Country star canceled performance on Friday following reports of a bomb threat, but made it to a Texas show the next day, where she talked openly about her faith

Ella Langley returned to the stage in Lubbock, Texas, on Saturday after canceling her performance in Tulsa, Oklahoma, due to a security threat. While addressing the crowd, the country star candidly revealed she considered canceling that show, too, but said felt “this calling and this tug at my chest that says it’s OK. We are safe, and we can do this show.”

“If it wasn’t for Him, I would have canceled this show tonight. I would have,” Langley said, citing her Christian faith in God. “And I decided to because of Him right there, and that’s the only reason. Because like I said earlier tonight, every time I see ‘do not fear’ in the Bible, I underline it. Every single time. And I’m not gonna live in fear.”

Langley canceled the Tulsa performance on Friday, Oct. 9, just hours before doors were scheduled to open. “Due to a serious security threat involving the safety of my fans, the venue staff, and my team, the incredibly difficult decision was made to cancel tonight’s show,” she said at the time. “Your safety will always mean more to me than anything else. I refuse to put anyone in harm’s way.”

During the Lubbock concert, Langley addressed how it felt to be responsible, at least in part, for a decision that would impact 15,000 people. “I decided to make the decision that I can live with the rest of my life. And that’s what I did,” she said. “When it comes to keeping you safe and making sure that this show is a safe place for us to come and enjoy our music, then it will happen. But the second it feels like it’s not, I’m not doing it. No concert is worth a human life. And so I would have made yesterday’s decision 10 billion times over. I’d do it tomorrow, and I’d do it the next day.”

Langley’s tour will continue on Oct. 12 and 13 with back-to-back nights at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles, followed by shows in Iowa, Nebraska, Minnesota, and more.
