Fleetwood Mac Charts A New Top 10 Bestselling Album In America

Fleetwood Mac has a great week on the Billboard charts almost every week. Any time a legacy act can appear on multiple rosters — and in the case of Fleetwood Mac, not only with a successful album, but often two projects and a handful of songs — it is an impressive showing. The vast majority of artists who have stopped recording and releasing new music disappear from the rankings and are often never seen again.

A new version of Fleetwood Mac’s Greatest Hits was recently unveiled and made available to fans digitally and on streaming platforms, and then later via physical formats. The reissue includes more than half a dozen additional smashes from the Grammy-winning act, and fans of the group and those tunes in particular have turned the collection into not only a bestseller, but a top 10 success for the very first time.

Greatest Hits returns to the Top Album Sales chart this week at No. 10. The compilation appears within the top 10 for the first time on America’s ranking of the top-selling releases of any style or length. The decades-old collection reaches its new peak well over 200 weeks into its run on the tally.

Fleetwood Mac’s Sales Surge

Luminate, which gathers the sales and streaming data that helps fuel the Billboard charts, reports that Greatest Hits sold a little less than 5,600 copies during the latest tracking period, which is reflected on the current rankings. That figure includes digital downloads as well as purchases on physical formats such as CD and vinyl. The sum includes sales of any version of the collection, whether the original release or the newly-expanded edition. Purchases of Greatest Hits grew by several hundred percent compared to the frame before.

Fleetwood Mac Scores Its Fifth Top 10 Bestseller

Greatest Hits becomes Fleetwood Mac’s fifth top 10 on the Top Album Sales chart. The compilation joins The Dance, the band’s only No. 1 on the ranking, which spent a single frame in charge back in 1997. Rumours, Say You Will and Rumours Live peaked at Nos. 2, 3 and 4, respectively, and coincidentally.

Fleetwood Mac has now racked up 20 total appearances on the Top Album Sales roster. Many of those titles only spent one or two frames somewhere on the list, and several of them peaked below No. 50, back when the ranking included 100 spaces instead of only half as many, as is the case these days.

Fleetwood Mac’s Compilation Reaches Two Additional New Peaks

Greatest Hits returns to two additional Billboard charts this week and reaches higher than ever on both of them. The collection reenters the Vinyl Albums tally at No. 5, rewriting its best showing on the wax list. It also finds its way back to the Top Streaming Albums ranking, coming in at No. 17, which likewise marks a new peak for the set.

Fleetwood Mac Nearly Returns to the Billboard 200’s Top 10

Greatest Hits also manages to rise to a new all-time high on the Billboard 200, the main ranking of the most-consumed albums and EPs in the United States. The compilation surges from No. 69 to No. 13, improving its previously-set peak by just one spot. For years No. 14 stood as the highest rung the set had reached.

Consumption of Fleetwood Mac’s Greatest Hits more than doubled last week when compared to the previous frame. The collection earned 30,200 equivalent album units this past week, after managing fewer than 15,000 during the period prior.

Fleetwood Mac Blasts Back Into the Rock Chart’s Top 10

Greatest Hits returns to the top 10 on two rock-focused rankings, ones where it is almost always present. The collection of singles climbs from outside the top 10 to No. 4 on the Top Rock & Alternative Albums chart and one space higher on the Top Rock Albums tally. On the latter list, Greatest Hits repeats at its already-established high.
