It’s been 25 years since the terror attacks on Sept. 11, 2001, marking a significant anniversary for one of our country’s worst tragedies. To remember the dark day, most major TV networks have released specials over the last couple of weeks, and others are running commemorative editions of their programs on Friday the 11th. Among this special coverage are ABC’s 9/11 Tribute in Light: Live From Lower Manhattan and 9/11 Reunited, History Channel’s 102 Minutes Inside the Towers, CBS’ Daughters of 9/11, and all-day special programming on Fox News.

9/11 Tribute in Light: Live From Lower Manhattan

At 8 p.m. ET tonight, ABC will go live from the “Tribute in Light” installation at Ground Zero in New York City, which has been on display on 9/11 every year since 2002. It’s the first time a national, synchronized live broadcast special will be centered around the moving annual installation.

9/11: United We Stand – 25 Years Later

ABC also released a special called 9/11: United We Stand – 25 Years Later on Sept. 1, and will be showing an encore on the network on Sept. 11. Hosted by Michael Strahan, the two-hour special explores how Americans used sports, music, theater, and comedy to heal after the attacks.

102 Minutes Inside the Towers

History Channel is premiering a new documentary special on Sept. 11 called 102 Minutes Inside the Towers. As the name suggests, the special focuses on what was happening inside the twin towers during the 102 minutes between the first and second planes’ impacts.

When America Took the Field

After the terror attacks, Americans healed in many ways. One of those was America’s greatest pastime, baseball. MLB Network is taking a closer look at baseball’s role in the nation’s recovery over this two-hour special, which aired on Sept. 10 and will re-air Sept. 11 through 13.

Daughters of 9/11

CBS’ special Daughters of 9/11 takes a magnifying glass to the day by highlighting the story of two women, Elizabeth Miller and Jessica Trant, who both lost their fathers in the terror attacks. The two formed a friendship during their decades-long pursuit of justice. The special will air on Sept. 11 at 9 p.m. ET.

Various Fox Programming
