Taylor Frankie Paul is returning for season six of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
ABC has not shared its plans for Paul’s pulled season of The Bachelorette, but that has not deterred her involvement with the Emmy-nominated Hulu series. Season six of Mormon Wives is currently in production, as majority of the cast (except for Paul) has been spotted filming in Utah and on their first international cast trip in Milan.
No information on Paul’s status for season six, be that full-time or popping up in a guest role, was made available.
It was unclear if Paul would have any involvement with Mormon Wives after season five, which is gearing up to release on Hulu on Sept. 10, as filming was halted due to an alleged domestic incident involving Paul and her ex Dakota Mortensen. Season five will only consist of five episodes, all shot after Paul finished The Bachelorette and before an investigation into the allegations was launched by production; filming only resumed for the cast to shoot confessional interviews.
Paul did not return to film confessional interviews, but only to participate in the opening title shoot for season five. THR previously reported that the ball was in Paul’s court on a Mormon Wives return, and that the team behind the show wanted her to return if and when she was ready.
Paul, alongside the full cast, is an executive producer of the show. Page Six reported on Wednesday that her comeback is met “with the full support of ABC and Disney.” A source added, “ABC’s been great. They have total faith throughout. It’s been a very open line of communication with ABC, and they’ve been supportive throughout this process.”
ABC pulled Paul’s season of The Bachelorette from air in March, days before its release, after a video was leaked of her throwing barstools at Mortensen from a 2023 domestic violence incident, which led to her arrest. Days after the season was pulled, NBC News also reported that Paul was under investigation for an alleged third domestic violence incident, also involving Mortensen, that allegedly occurred in 2024. (All three alleged incidents have involved Paul and Mortensen.)
On April 7, Paul filed a temporary restraining order against Mortensen, which she was granted. In Paul’s filing, which THR obtained, she recounted several alleged abusive incidents involving Mortensen, including a Feb. 23 event where she says he “became physically violent” and slammed her head on the dashboard of his truck.
Confirmation of Paul returning for Mormon Wives followed a first-look clip at the upcoming fifth season, where she revealed she did, in fact, get engaged during Bachelorette filming, but that things changed once she returned home.
The major plot reveal has led some fans to believe ABC will not be releasing her season, as the Bachelor franchise is infamously tight-lipped about spoilers.
